Exchange 2000 Public Folders

One of the very nice features that comes with Exchange 2000 is public folders. These are shared among the users of your email system. Anything stored in one can be accessed by anyone else with the appropriate privileges.

Public folders show up on all Outlook clients (Outlook 97-XP at least) which are installed with corporate email support. They do not show up on clients installed with internet-only support.

One of the really cool things about a public folder is you can associate it with an email address. This means that any message sent to that email address will automatically be added to the public folder. I found this is great for automatically sorting and separating electronic newsletters and other type of information.
