Web Email
A good thing to have is one or more web-based email accounts. Personally, I find these annoying because they are so slow and cumbersome, but they do have advantages.
There are two major reasons for using a web-based email account. First and foremost is for spam control. It's easy to create a free email account and use that account for all of your postings to newsgroups and so forth. Them when the spam gets too thick, you simply delete or disable the account, create a new one and start over again. This is much, much easier than trying to change your personal or business email account.
The second reason is convenience. If you travel a lot it is great to pick up your email using your web browser. Then you do not have to configure an email client such as outlook express just to read your emails. Some of the web based email systems allow you to pick up your emails from other POP accounts - this can be extremely helpful if you are on the road and need to get your mail.
