Creating Stationery Using Outlook Express 5
Lesson #1: The Basics
Need to create some stationery? Outlook Express 5 (bundled with Internet Explorer 5+) has options to help you do just that. This is a fast tutorial so read and hang on.
First, start up Outlook Express and create a new message by clicking the "New Mail" button.

The "Format" menu of the "New Message" that you are creating contains a selection called "Background". Using this selection you can create some very nice stationery.

First, you should give your stationery a background picture or color. Here's how to give it a background picture. Select "Format", then "Background" followed by "Picture".

This will produce a dialog box allowing you to pick your background. You can either pick one of the standard backgrounds or browse for your own picture.

Let's choose 061.jpg as our background. (You can also choose a color using the color menu if you want.)
Follow a similar procedure to add a background sound to the stationery.

Selecting the "Sound..." option allows you to select sounds.

As you can see, you have the option to annoy the heck out of the person receiving the email by playing the music continuously (or just a few times). You can also choose from the various file types and use the "Browse" button to browse to where your music is stored.
Now you've created some very simple stationery. You should save it, as shown below

Select "Save as Stationery" to produce the save screen.

Set your filename to a descriptive name and save it. You have now created your first stationery!
